Annette Tatum

Campaign Manager

Annett Tatum is the wife of pastor Gregory Tatum who is a candidate for the Mayor of Bakersfield, California. She holds a BA in Psychology from Hope International University, a BS in Biblical Studies, M.Div. Next Dimension Bible College. He will be appearing on the primary ballot March 5th, 2024, against incumbent Karen Goh. 

Because of her uniquely relevant academic achievements in addition to her being his wife, Pastor Tatum has chosen his wife Annette for the very crucial role of Campaign Manager for his candidacy, as he runs for the 2024 primary election to become the Mayor of Bakersfield.

Annette has been married to pastor Tatum for 45 years, and together have three children, and nine grandchildren. For over 15 years now, Annette has been working with a group of young women in the city of Bakersfield, helping them deal with motherhood and to achieve their academic goals while living in the most challenging locations in the city.

In 2009 Annette was awarded the title of Manager at Mesa Airlines/ U.S Airways at Meadows Field Airport in Bakersfield, making her the first woman of color to hold that title.  Annette was program manager of Co- 300 people for the ACS/Xerox in the city of Bakersfield, Ca. She is the first Lady of Change Community Church, originally located on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, in Bakersfield, and has worked six years in that location beside her husband. As Pastor Tatum’s Campaign Manager, she has established a grass roots group called “Team Tatum” aimed at ensuring the victory for Pastor Tatum’s campaign 

When asked about her husbands campaign, Annette responded…

“Gregory is a United States Veteran, a Pastor, a father, and grandfather so he will represent the substantial number of veterans, parents, and grandparents in a city that has over 400,000 thousand residents and growing. Pastor Tatum is the most logical choice on March 5th, 2024 and WILL become the new Mayor of Bakersfield, but only if YOU show up and vote for the United States’ Veteran who has served his country, and kept his family together for generations, and who will serve the city of Bakersfield like it needs to be served - and that person is my husband, the Reverend Doctor Gregory Tatum.”

Jennifer Spears

Campaign Strategist

Philanthropist, Ambassador and Christian film producer Jennifer Spears serves as campaign strategist for Dr. Tatum’s Mayoral run.

Having grown up as a Military Revivalist Minister’s daughter, Jennifer is able to see beyond the walls that usually keep people divided. 

As a Community Activist she is a firm believer in being the hands and feet of Jesus - not waiting on another authority to advance the positive changes Humanity needs.

Among the many projects she leads, Jennifer currently leads an effort to is build sustainable farms and Orphanages in the US, India, Africa, and Mexico - an effort close to Dr. Tatum’s heart. 

Jennifer’s proven track record of empowering Individuals (especially People of Color) to be get engaged in civic servant leadership has been admired by Dr. Tatum for many years as she has organized over 30 women’s conferences worldwide. It is for this and other reasons that “Friends of Tatum for Office” is proud to have Jennifer as campaign advisor for the 2024 campaign.
